Weird Brothers Coffee Now Expanding - Franchises Offered in Virginia and Maryland

The veteran-owned specialty coffee brand is seeking new franchise partners as it pursues expansion through Virginia, Maryland, and beyond.

Weird Brothers Coffee Now Expanding - Franchises Offered in Virginia and MarylandHerndon, VA  (RestaurantNews.comWeird Brothers Coffee, a veteran-owned specialty coffee company known for its small-batch roasting and deeply personal origin story, has officially launched its franchise sales program. Founded by brothers Paul and Kenny Olsen, the brand is now inviting entrepreneurs to bring the Weird Brothers Coffee experience to new communities through franchise partnerships.

Weird Brothers Coffee was first inspired to franchise by a genuine desire to share better coffee, build deeper community connections, and create welcoming spaces where people can come together for fundraising efforts, events, local art displays, and other meaningful local gatherings.

“Consumers are thirsty for unique, independent specialty coffee with a focus on positive and personable experiences,” stated Paul Olsen of the move to franchise. “Weird Brothers Coffee is perfectly positioned to fill this void and fulfill local coffee community desires.”

Weird Brothers Coffee was built on a mission to craft coffee that customers genuinely fall in love with. The brand’s roots trace back to the brothers’ shared passion with fresh-roasted, high-quality coffee, with early support from their “odd but awesome” father, Daryl Olsen, who played a key role in helping them launch the business.

Paul Olsen’s background as an Army veteran also helped shape the company’s ethos. While serving, he experienced cultures across the country and around the world, but it was a trip to Ethiopia – specifically the ancient city of Harar – that captured his imagination and deepened his desire to share the world’s best coffees with others. Consistent with its original inspiration, Weird Brothers Coffee continues to roast all of its coffee in small batches locally in Herndon, Virginia, where it is also the very first coffee roaster in the region.

“We know that the world needs more Weird Brothers,” Olsen added. “Franchising allows us to spread the love and grow through selling ownership and true vested partnerships with expansion shop operators.”

As franchise sales officially begin, Weird Brothers Coffee has partnered with Atlanta-based Franchise Marketing Systems, a franchise development and sales firm, to support its initial expansion in Virginia and Maryland.

“Weird Brothers Coffee is seeking motivated, independently minded, creative individuals who want to carve out a niche in their local markets by providing incredible service and delicious coffee,” Olsen said.

Weird Brothers franchise partners receive comprehensive training, ongoing operational support, and detailed guidance across all aspects of the business. Support includes marketing strategy development, branded design elements, social media and digital marketing support, operational systems, and continued mentorship designed to help franchisees build strong connections within their local coffee communities.
