TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2026 /CNW/ -- As workers across Canada navigate the impacts of the U.S. trade war and increased economic uncertainty, Unifor's new nationwide campaign, 'Built Here. For Here.', underscores why having a made-in-Canada union matters more than ever.
"Every worker benefits from a union," said Unifor National President Lana Payne. "Unifor is proud of the benefits it provides as a union that is 100% Canadian-built, Canadian led, and focused exclusively on workers in Canada."
Aimed at unorganized workers who do not have a collective voice on the job, 'Built Here. For Here.' emphasizes the advantages of a union where the decisions, legal strategies, and bargaining priorities are made by and focused exclusively on workers in Canada.
"Unifor has achieved historic organizing victories at places like WestJet, Walmart and Amazon because workers understand that the best way to improve working conditions is by coming together," added Payne. "As a Canadian union, Unifor's strategies are tailored specifically to Canadian labour laws, our economy, and protecting Canadian jobs."
The campaign features photos of members in the workplace and includes nationwide billboards, digital media ads, and a video with the message, "This is solidarity. Made in Canada."
Unifor is Canada's largest union in the private sector, representing 320,000 workers in every major area of the economy. The union advocates for all working people and their rights, fights for equality and social justice in Canada and abroad, and strives to create progressive change for a better future.
