SHERBROOKE, QC, Sept. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- Bishop's University is proud to announce that TD Bank Group will become the sponsor of the Bishop's Gaiters football program through December 2027. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to student success, community engagement, and the continued growth of university athletics.
This announcement comes at an exciting time for the Gaiters football program. Following six consecutive playoff appearances and an Atlantic University Sport Title in 2024, the team will return to the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) conference in 2026, generating renewed enthusiasm among fans, alumni, and supporters across the region.
With approximately 100 student-athletes, the Gaiters football program plays an important role in the Bishop's student experience, providing opportunities for athletic excellence, leadership development, and academic achievement.
"TD's support represents a meaningful investment in our student-athletes and the future of Gaiters football," said Matt McBrine, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "As we prepare for our return to the RSEQ, this collaboration will help strengthen the program during an exciting new chapter for Gaiters football."
"We are proud to collaborate with Bishop's University and support the Gaiters football program during this exciting chapter," said Éric Guay, District Vice-president, Montérégie et Estrie, Groupe Banque TD. "Student-athletes demonstrate the dedication, teamwork, and leadership that help build strong communities, and we are pleased to contribute to their success both on and off the field."
Linking two strong brands together, the sponsorship is expected to enhance the visibility and growth of the football program as it integrates the RSEQ, while fostering stronger connections between Bishop's University, TD, alumni, and the broader community.
