The landmark Manhattan address brings together the photographer's decades-long connection to New York and monumental works spanning more than 12 feet
NEW YORK, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LIK Fine Art has opened a new Peter Lik fine-art photography gallery at 689 Fifth Avenue, bringing large-format landscapes, cityscapes and wildlife photography to Manhattan's celebrated shopping and cultural corridor. Open to the public since September 18, 2026, LIK Fine Art Fifth Avenue occupies space within the landmark former Aeolian Building at Fifth Avenue and 54th Street, near Rockefeller Center.

The opening builds on Lik's longstanding creative relationship with New York. For more than three decades, the Australian-born photographer has returned to capture the city's skyline, bridges, architecture, parks and changing light. The new gallery presents selections from that body of work in the city that inspired it, alongside photographs from his travels around the world.
Two monumental works anchor the gallery: Sunday 5:47AM and Boulevard of Dreams, each extending more than 12 feet across multiple panels. Their scale gives visitors an opportunity to explore details and perspectives that are difficult to appreciate in smaller reproductions. Other featured photographs include Empire and Vintage Road.
"New York has challenged and inspired me for years," said Peter Lik, founder and photographer of LIK Fine Art. "The city is constantly moving, and the light can transform a familiar scene in seconds. Opening on Fifth Avenue gives this body of work a home in the place where so much of it began."
Multiple viewing rooms accommodate photography in sizes ranging from smaller-format photographs to expansive, multi-panel Epic Editions. Artwork is printed, mounted, framed and finished in-house at LIK Fine Art's Las Vegas studio. Acrylic presentation and carefully controlled gallery lighting reveal the color, contrast and detail of the finished photographs.
The address adds a connection to New York's architectural and cultural history. Designed by Warren & Wetmore, the firm associated with Grand Central Terminal, the former Aeolian Building was constructed between 1925 and 1927 for the Aeolian Company's musical-instrument showrooms and performance spaces. The building received New York City landmark designation in 2002.
The gallery welcomes residents, visitors and collectors to explore independently or arrange a private viewing. Art Specialists also assist interior designers, architects and clients selecting photography for residential, corporate and hospitality spaces.
LIK Fine Art Fifth Avenue is located at 689 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10022. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For information, call (917) 310-2770 or visit lik.com/pages/lik-fine-art-fifth-avenue.
