New agreement expands access to affordable, high-quality Catholic education

EMMITSBURG, Md., Nov. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Mount St. Mary's University has partnered with St. Joseph Regional High School through a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) that guarantees admission and a renewable scholarship to eligible graduates who meet specific criteria. The agreement strengthens access to high-quality Catholic education and creates a seamless pathway from high school to university.

"I'm proud to offer a pathway to a Mount education for Saint Joseph Regional High School students. As a father of five children educated through Catholic schools, I know the value of a Catholic education firsthand and partnerships like this are central to making that education accessible to more families. I look forward to Saint Joseph Regional students finding spiritual development, academic growth, and a home away from home at the Mount," said President of Mount St. Mary's University Gerard "Jerry" Joyce, Ph.D.

The agreement, signed by Josh Karlheim, Executive Director of Admissions, and Amanda Lentino, Assistant Principal of Academics, guarantees admission to Mount St. Mary's University for graduates of Saint Joseph Regional who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and satisfy all admission requirements.
