WASHINGTON, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Magnoli — the cloud-native, AI-powered dry cleaning business management software engineered by and for industry operators — announced the launch of native payroll processing at Drycleaning & Laundry Expo East (DL Expo East), which begins today at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in the Washington metropolitan area.

Labor is a dry cleaner's largest controllable cost, and payroll remains one of the most repetitive back-office tasks for managers. With wage pressure and third-party processor fees both climbing, executives are scrutinizing every hour and every vendor invoice. Magnoli users already schedule each location against sales-based labor targets, and the platform warns managers before an employee slips into overtime and flags missed punches and long breaks before they ever reach the paycheck. Paid time off accrual, bonuses, and overtime are calculated automatically.

Koh is also executive chairman of Timeless Cleaners Inc. and CEO of its primary operating company, Al Phillips Cleaners, one of the largest dry cleaners in the U.S. Using tools created by Koh and the Magnoli team, Al Phillips Cleaners reduced labor expense from around 60% of sales when Timeless Cleaners acquired the business in 2023 to under 40% by 2025. Upgraded versions of the same tools are now available to every Magnoli customer.

But until now, one step in the payroll process still lived outside Magnoli. After approving payroll, the business user exported the numbers to a separate processor to actually pay employees and file payroll taxes — meaning a second system, a second login, and a second bill. Magnoli's payroll service eliminates that handoff entirely. Managers approve the pay period on a single screen, and Magnoli handles the rest — direct deposits, pay stubs, and payroll tax filing.

"Magnoli already scheduled the people and prepared the numbers, so processing payroll was the logical next step. It's one less vendor and one less export, and no more re-keying hours on payday," Koh said.

Payroll processing begins rolling out to select Magnoli customers this quarter, with broad availability for all customers coming soon thereafter. Magnoli's implementation team will personally migrate each customer from its current payroll processor to ensure a seamless transition.

Payroll joins an existing Magnoli back office suite covering document and license management, fixed asset inventory, project management, and professional services — run by expert partners — for fractional CFO, accounting, HR, and compliance support. Additional AI-enhanced offerings, deeply integrated with the core platform, are in development for a 2027 release.
