Inlayer, JLINC and Vconic Unveil Verified Human Trust Stack to Put Real People Back on the Call

PR Newswire

One tap of a card to a smartphone proves a real person is present and consenting, while each verified interaction becomes a tamper-evident vCon conversation record. Live verified-human conference bridge debuts at VON Evolution in Atlanta.

ATLANTA, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Inlayer, JLINC and Vconic today announced a joint Verified Human trust stack that lets organizations prove a real human is present on a call, capture consent cryptographically and preserve the interaction as an auditable conversation record.

Inlayer is launching Presence, with JLINC embedded as an Advanced Compliance option, and Vconic's Smart Trunk and vCon architecture providing the conversation record. The companies are demonstrating the stack at Jeff Pulver's VON Evolution in Atlanta, October 13–15.

Each tap generates cryptographic proof that a real human is present and verifies who and where they claim to be. Providers can use that proof as a trust signal to filter or block unverified actors. Identity and location sharing happen with consent, not surveillance, with no app or new credentials required.

Why it matters

AI makes it increasingly easy to impersonate people and brands across voice, video and digital communications. Existing safeguards such as STIR/SHAKEN attest the carrier and calling number, not the human speaking. KYC, E911 and consent records can also remain manual and difficult to verify later.

How the trust stack works

The Trust Layer — Presence by Inlayer uses patented NFC tap points and the native card readers built into every smartphone. Each tap creates a one-time key, validates it in the Inlayer cloud and mints a trust token proving a real human is present. Users authenticate through an organization's existing identity provider and can consent to share location when required.

The Consent Layer — JLINC captures consent and data-sharing agreements, memorializing the trust token and each agreement in a cryptographically verifiable record. It supports zero-knowledge audits so third parties can verify records without exposing sensitive information.

The Conversation Layer — Vconic's Smart Trunk and vCon architecture receive verified-tap events and write them into the vCon ledger. The resulting record can include verified identity, timestamps, origination location, recording consent, AI participation and decisions made during the call.

"Every conversation now carries a question nobody could answer before: was there a real, accountable person on the line?" said Thomas Howe, CEO of Vconic. "The vCon gives organizations a record that answers it, with proof."

"Physics is one thing no software can fake," said James L. Lee, CEO of Inlayer.

"JLINC attestation makes each agreement on the call a verifiable part of the record," said Dean Landsman, Strategist, JLINC.

Live at VON Evolution

At VON Evolution, participants join a conference call only after tapping a Presence card to verify themselves. Entry can be gated on consent, with live verified polling and voting. When the call ends, the vCon shows who was verified, when they joined, what they consented to and how they voted.

Beyond calling

The stack can also support video meetings, messaging, social media, human-in-the-loop AI authorization, accountable AI agents, human-level attestation, KYC and E911 workflows, governance meetings and event check-in.

Availability

Carriers, CCaaS and voice AI vendors, enterprises, standards bodies and analysts are invited to engage on pilots, human-level attestation and AI accountability. A white paper is forthcoming.
